I enjoy life in Moscow, there's opportunity to meet all sorts of people and do all sorts of things. As for visiting Moscow, I suppose it must be quite an adventure for someone from the US. I mean there are plenty of differences in terms of culture, language and general mentality, so reaching understanding with people can be hard sometimes. Especially the language - Moscow is not exactly tourist-friendly in that aspect. I have sometimes seen foreign tourists utterly lost on the Subway, even the map doesn't help. So prepare yourself for a lot of new experiences and don't let the occasional difficulty discourage you I'd also recommend teaming up with a friend and doing some prior research/arrangements for both accomodation and what you plan to do. With some cities it works to just come over and take things as they go, but in Moscow you can end up being overwhelmed and wasting too much time and money that way. Good luck!
